How Merric keeps things fair
Verification, moderation and privacy, explained without the jargon.
Verified communities
A community can earn a Verified badge by proving it controls a Discord server, a domain, or by passing manual review. Verification is about trust, not payment — nobody can buy it.
Verified communities get a badge on their profile and directory card, and their servers can appear on leaderboards. If ownership changes or the proof stops working, the badge is removed automatically.
Verified servers
Server listings are checked by Merric staff before they're approved. Staff can then mark a server as verified once they've confirmed the owner is real and the details are accurate.
Verification is separate from community verification: a verified community doesn't automatically verify every server it lists, and a verified server doesn't verify the community.
Reports and moderation
Anyone can report a server, community, player or review. Reports go to the moderation queue where staff review the evidence and decide whether to warn, suspend or dismiss.
Suspensions hide the affected page and end the owner's access where relevant. Every staff action is written to an audit log so decisions can be reviewed.
Appeals
If you think a suspension was wrong, you can appeal it once. Appeals are reviewed by a different staff member from the person who made the original decision.
You don't need to be able to log in to appeal — we'll email you a secure link when a suspension affects your account.
Age and adult content
Merric is for players aged 13 and over. Communities marked as adult-only are hidden from the directory and from signed-out visitors unless they confirm they're 18 or over.
We don't ask for proof of age beyond that confirmation, but we remove content and communities that break the rules or put minors at risk.
Privacy and data
We only collect what we need to run the platform: account details, content you post, and anonymous daily stats for owners. We don't sell your data or track you across other sites.
You can export or delete your account from settings. Game stats are only saved for players who link a game account, and unlinking deletes them.
